March 3, 2025Celebrating Women in Construction Week at Ischebeck Titan
At Ischebeck Titan, we are proud to celebrate Women in Construction Week, a time to recognise the vital contributions that women make to our industry.
Women currently make up approximately 20% of our workforce, bringing a combined 210.5 years of experience to our business. Their expertise, resilience, and dedication help shape the future of construction, from technical roles to project management and beyond.
While construction has traditionally been a male-dominated industry, we are seeing positive change. At Ischebeck Titan, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where women can thrive, lead, and innovate.
As we celebrate this week, we want to acknowledge the incredible women within our business and across the industry. Their contributions drive progress, and we are proud to stand alongside them in breaking barriers and building a more diverse future.
We have interviewed 4 hard working women from across our company to gain some insight into how they have found working in the construction industry and there advice for other women.
Sarah Parker, Customer Service Coordinator
- How long have you been in the construction industry? 2.5 Years nearly
- The highlights of your day-to-day & your role – Working as a team and liaising with my allocated sales engineers (‘Buddy’s). There is a family vibe within our office and my colleagues which makes everyday fun and enjoyable.
- What do you enjoy most about your job? The people, without a doubt. It is also a fast-paced job, which I enjoy. In addition, as we each have our own sales engineers and accounts to look after, it gives you a sense of importance, like what you do in the role makes a difference. I also enjoy seeing updates & progress on the larger scale projects and visiting sites.
- Have you faced any challenges as a woman in construction? If so, how have you overcome them? The main challenge which I think most women would agree on, are some of the barriers due to the construction being a male-lead industry. It can be difficult from time to time to voice opinions or strategy, although as time goes on it does appear to be improving.
- What advice would you give to other women considering a career in construction? Be confident, be forthcoming and be resilient!

Abbey Cheney, Technical Sales Coordinator
- How long have you been in the construction industry? 5 Years
- The highlights of your day-to-day & your role – My team and customers. Everyone is really supportive and friendly. It’s great to build relationships with customers.
- What do you enjoy most about your job? I enjoy the fast-paced and unpredictability of the role. You never know what you’ll be doing when you come in in the morning.
- Have you faced any challenges as a woman in construction? If so, how have you overcome them? It can be difficult to be taken seriously or speak up as a woman in a predominately male industry. Sometimes I think this can be internalised though, and not necessarily a reflection of the people around. My team is very supportive and always pushing me which really helps! Occasionally I find customers are hesitant, but on the most part this isn’t an issue.
- What advice would you give to other women considering a career in construction? Be confident in yourself and your knowledge. Don’t be afraid to voice your opinions.
