We were tasked with producing a climbing formwork proposal for this narrow 5-storey core which could allow various complexities such as steel frame casting plates, large doorway openings in relation to the wall dimensions and a full roof capping slab detail.
With a tight site layout and stringent program deadlines, the client opted for off-site platform assembly which was taken care of by the Burton depot team in accordance with platform assembly designs. This resulted in a streamlined installation process with minimal site set-up and hook time from vehicle to wall fixture.
Working closely with GRK Civils and Kier, Ischebeck design team manager Scott Atkinson detailed appropriate anchor fixings to suit different wall thicknesses. In addition, HD FAB platform weights were prepared to suit the structural concrete strength to ensure the most effective pour cycle.
NOEtop stripping corners allowed for vertical movement of the internal shutter in a single crane lift. The 2.3m wide platform working space gave ample room for podium tower movement for high-level steel fixing and tie placement safely within the 3.6m high-edge protection cage.
