Leaning towers of Glasgow

May 2008 saw the start of the largest single roads project ever carried out on Scottish soil.  With work well underway, the completion of the M74, from the South side of Glasgow right through to the City Centre, is scheduled for autumn 2011.

New viaducts are supported by five individual “V” shaped piers.  The face of each sloping column features a vertical ribbed finish.

Ischebeck Titan’s Noetop wall panel, with its integrated soldiers, was chosen to achieve the required flexibility in tie positioning in order to marry up with the feature finish.  A concrete pour of 56m³ was completed in 8 hours.
